Mom's visit

Mom & Mike came to town for a few days during their tour of the south. We had a great time with them during their brief visit. The kids especially loved having Grandma here. They barely left her alone for a second except to go to school. 

Tornado day night

Raleigh was under a tornado warning for the better part of the day. The kids were all released early from school ahead of the incoming weather (for their 3.5 weather day in 2016). We spent much of the day in the basement hanging out. Good thing we have a basement and that it's finished so we were well entertained. That evening, the kids were all still a little spooked so we had a slumber party in our room. 

Roller skating

Kyle, Emily, Aaron and I had a total old school kind of evening. We went roller skating. Talk about a blast from the past. Growing up, our school would often have events at the local roller rink. Surprisingly, the rink was pretty hopping on a Saturday evening. And the kids did a great job skating.

Aaron and Mommy day

Aaron had the day off preschool so we spent a fun day at the park together. We played at the park, played some soccer, did some running. And took some selfies. 

Kyle & Emily jog-a-thon

Kyle and Emily had their jog-a-thon at school. It was a beautiful day out, but they had already made weather contingency plans to have it indoors. Nonetheless, the kids ran their hearts out and did a great job. Both were among the top runners in their class for running the most laps. Good running!
