Beach dinner

Today we had a pretty San Diego kind of day. Jeff took the kids sailing on his new sailing license that he completed back in February. Aaron is too little to go on a sailboat safely we felt, so I stayed home with him. But in the evening, we joined up with Jeff, Kyle and Emily for a campfire dinner at a fire pit on the beach.

For dinner, we had trout and veggies all cooked in foil in the fire. We also had bananas in a foil packet with caramel, chocolate and graham cracker in them. And of course we made s'mores as well. It was a fun evening and a new experience for the kids. Since it was a Sunday evening, the beach was pretty deserted so we were able to get our own fire pit quite easily.
