Earthquake

Today, Kyle and Emily experienced their first San Diego earthquake. It was a 7.2 quake about 130 miles away, but it sure shook us! The whole house was moving. It was about 3:40pm and they should have been napping, but were awake and giggling to each other instead. We ultimately went to their doorway and hung out there for what seemed like several minutes waiting for the shaking to stop. Jeff gave a great, 3 year old explanation about earthquakes and their causes and what to do when one happens. Some pictures moved on the walls, the CO2 detector fell off the wall, and a pendulum clock now works from all the swaying, but all was well. Now going to bed tonight, Emily tells me, "Mommy, I don't like spiders, snakes and earthquakes."
