You know it's a wonder how a child's mind works... The things they say and come up with are astounding sometimes. Today Emily was telling Daddy about a scene from Curious George. She comments about George crying and notes that he had some "crying water". Of course Jeff knew she was trying to describe George's tears. It was just really cute and very interesting how that is what she came up with as a perfectly accurate description - crying water - instead of tears.
Kyle had a rough week that included several days off of school. We started Monday with finding his arm / shoulder doubled in size from his Dtap shot that he had gotten 4 days prior. At the doctor we learned it was a normal reaction to the tetanus in the shot. That was the second time in the past year he's reacted to a shot - last time was MMR and flu mist so we don't know which one caused the fever and general misery and I never let them do multiple shots at once except that one time...
Anyhow he also had a pretty wicked cough (which we though was from the pertussis part of the shot - which we learned it wasn't since it's not a live virus shot) so he went to school for about 30 minutes on Monday, the second half of Tuesday, none of Wednesday and the half day Thursday. Monday I wasn't entirely convinced he was super sick (he had been coughing all weekend and so far no one else has gotten sick - even a week later as I write and backdate this) so I took him on a lunch date up to sushi thinking some miso soup would do his cough some good. It was a nice little lunch date with just Kyle and myself. And 2 of his mikos - Real Miko and Koko came along for lunch. He was pretty excited to bring them with because we don't let them come along for fear of them getting lost and Real Miko is his most precious monkey. Anyhow, we both enjoyed our walk to sushi and a great lunch with the monkeys together.
The Mikos sat in the back of Kyle's fleece as he enjoyed his miso soup and crab hand roll
Happy Valentine's Day! At dance class today, Emily's class did a special Valentine's dance for the parents. Emily was so thrilled to have all of us there to watch her dance class and especially their Valentine's dance number.
But first some Valentine's cat basketball in the boxes that need to get recycled
Emily started dance class again today. She has been looking forward to this for some time (she was on the waitlist until this month). She came home saying that she wants dance class to be everyday!
The kids and Jeff went with me to my 34 week doctor appointment. Please excuse my giant belly, but it was neat for the kids to help out with their baby brother's heartbeat check and belly measurement.

This weekend we had some fun visitors! Max and Leo, Kyle and Emily's cousins were visiting from New York. Over the weekend, we headed up to Disneyland together. The kids had a blast together. Kyle and Emily were so sad for Max and Leo to head home.

Emily on Ariel's carousel. We split up from the boys for a bit and had a little girl time and went on a bunch of girl rides together - Ariel's carousel twice, the rocket ships that were finally open for us and Ariel's Grotto ride.
At dinner, Emily got a special dessert. A princess box with cake in it. Of course she shared it very nicely, but was thrilled to have something girly for a change. That box, flag and princess mirror have watched her sleep (place of honor) since then.
