Sushi lunch date with Kyle and the Mikos

Kyle had a rough week that included several days off of school. We started Monday with finding his arm / shoulder doubled in size from his Dtap shot that he had gotten 4 days prior. At the doctor we learned it was a normal reaction to the tetanus in the shot. That was the second time in the past year he's reacted to a shot - last time was MMR and flu mist so we don't know which one caused the fever and general misery and I never let them do multiple shots at once except that one time...

Anyhow he also had a pretty wicked cough (which we though was from the pertussis part of the shot - which we learned it wasn't since it's not a live virus shot) so he went to school for about 30 minutes on Monday, the second half of Tuesday, none of Wednesday and the half day Thursday. Monday I wasn't entirely convinced he was super sick (he had been coughing all weekend and so far no one else has gotten sick - even a week later as I write and backdate this) so I took him on a lunch date up to sushi thinking some miso soup would do his cough some good. It was a nice little lunch date with just Kyle and myself. And 2 of his mikos - Real Miko and Koko came along for lunch. He was pretty excited to bring them with because we don't let them come along for fear of them getting lost and Real Miko is his most precious monkey. Anyhow, we both enjoyed our walk to sushi and a great lunch with the monkeys together.

The Mikos sat in the back of Kyle's fleece as he enjoyed his miso soup and crab hand roll
