Hand War

While I was working, Aaron asked me to take a break with him so we could have a hand war. I think he saw this on Clash Royale and had this all set up - a table and with a dollar on each side as our bet on winning this arm wrestling match (that he called a hand war). Love his spunk.

Boxer Aaron

This is so Aaron at 4. He found Emily's old sparring gear from karate and loves wearing it. He proudly wears it out in public. The kid totally rocks it!
He was wearing it to happy hour with Jeff and me, but got a little sweaty and couldn't drink his root beer with the gloves on.
He promptly put the gear back on when we returned home to have a fun little boxing match with Daddy. For the record, he will not be allowed to do any sort of real boxing, but he can certainly have fun with the gear.

Happy day

Around lunch time today, Aaron and I had the following conversation:

Aaron: Mommy, can we have a happy day with Daddy?
Me (not sure specifically what he is talking about): What do we do on a happy day?
Aaron: it's the one what I have beer pop.
Me: Ahhhh happy hour root beer.

He has good time / day sense too because we have previously done this on Wednesday. And what do you know, today is Wednesday. And so Jeff met Aaron and myself for a happy hour. And Aaron had his "beer pop".

Just some Aaron cuteness.

Way up high in the apple tree

My little surfer blonde baby is singing with a southern accent... His teachers definitely have southern accents so that is how he hears the songs he is taught at school. But if you showed him an apple and asked him what it was, he would say "apple" without the southern accent.

Aaron's evolution of dessert

Aaron's speech continues to come along nicely. Dessert started off as "wurt". It then became "zert". And now it is a very emphatic "ezzert"!!

On a separate, yet entertaining note, when he counts he emphasizes the e. Ten, eleven, e-twelve, e-thirteen...

Aaron Yoda

Aaron loves Star Wars. I think I've said that before. Aaron will be Yoda for Halloween so he now has his Yoda mask. He loves wearing it anywhere and everywhere. He is so 3 years old. And very cute.

This is his wound (between his eyes) from light sabering the ground, losing his footing and falling face first on the ground. Moral of the story: don't light saber the ground.

Aaron falling asleep

After our outing in DC during Aaron's naptime, he was exhausted. Nevermind that it was 5:30pm and we had just began our 4 hour drive ahead of us, he passed out. And I caught it on video. Isn't he cute?

Winston Salem

Kyle had a tournament in Winston Salem this weekend. It was his first (stay at a hotel) away tournament. We all went. Jeff got to take Aaron and Emily around Winston Salem to see Old Salem. They had a good time seeing the town.

Aaron skiing

To piggyback on Jeff's post about playing Kinect, here is Aaron skiing. He loves playing "Connect 4 season 2"

Happy Bear

Just a few pictures of Aaron adjusting to his new surroundings.

A monkey hat and marble maze. Happy Bear.

Moving day there was a digger in the lot behind ours. That was a great distraction for Aaron.

Resourceful Bear - hold it bipad

So with all the transition, Aaron has had a bit of iPad time. He often seeks it out. He proclaims, "Aaron hold it bipad!" Even when we put it up high and out of reach so he can't get to it or hopefully see it. Guess again. Where there's a will, there's a way. The iPad was up high in the closet at our apartment. Guess who figured out a way to get it down...

Robo-Bear

Aaron was out playing with Simon and put on Simon's robo-mask. It was pretty hilarious to see our little baby with this robo mask on speaking robo.

I got my red shoes on

Dr. Spike got Aaron the book "Pete the Cat" and it has been a huge hit in our house. Aaron loves it. And Aaron has some red shoes like Pete does in the book. It's really cute to hear him sing the Pete the Cat song. So here you go.

Baby Guitar hero

Aaron has been watching Jeff & Clark play some Guitar Hero a bit lately. This morning he needed to rock out too.

Saturday

So this was Saturday... I went out for a run in the late morning. When I came back, Jeff and the kids had made lunch, each taking a task. Kyle made us fresh juice in the juicer. Emily made ham and cheese sandwiches. Jeff made caprese salad. Aaron surely helped as well, likely moral support for Jeff. It was a delicious feast proudly made partly by Kyle & Emily.

Oh and that day, Aaron refused to get out of his pajamas. He loves his doctor pajamas. But he also wanted to wear underpants and potty train (for the record, that desire to potty train lasted one day and he is happily back in diapers). And he wouldn't wear pants because he wanted to see his choo-choo undies. And boots. Cute.

Aaron & Alice

Aaron loves his best friend Alice. They spend most days together. Her mom and I have a great time together so everyone is happy. Alice's brother, A.J., is now home as well so he has joined the A-team. These three are quite the trio on our many adventures.

Checking out the koi pond at the Japanese Gardens in Balboa Park. The Japanese Garden is my most favorite place in Balboa Park. It's just peaceful and serene and brings such a nice feeling of tranquility even during stressful times.

Feeding the fish

Aaron just taking some time to chill and see the lower gardens from above.

This is from our visit to the Air & Space Museum in Balboa Park. This is a fun place as well and reminds me of my dad who loved planes and aviation. It makes me think of him and his model airplanes spread out on the table as he meticulously put them together.

Aaron and Alice in the back seat of the helicopter. Apparently the front wasn't cool enough with the buttons and controls. The back seat was, well, the back seat. With seat belts to put on. And a small window to say hi through.

This was from Alice's house. Yes, Aaron is still in his pajamas. He likes his monkey jams. And well, it was one of those days. Kyle was home sick with a crazy high fever, I was in running clothes (i.e., I didn't have time to shower due to the middle of the night wake-ups with Kyle so I was pretty zonked in the morning until school drop off for Emily) and we had a day and plans to get to. Anyhow, Alice, AJ & Aaron were having lunch together and decided to play musical chairs. They were so cute and were just posing for pictures together. What a pair these two are! When we are out, Betsy and I are often asked if these cute little blondies are twins. Aaron will surely miss his Alice.

The Walrus

So our Oldies station out here is 105.7 the Walrus. We often play it in the car and the kids enjoy the music. The other day we were driving, the DJ came on at the end of the song and said what he needed to say and ended it by saying "105.7 the Walrus". Right behind me sits Aaron and in that short pause between "105.7" and "the Walrus", I hear this sweet little Aaron voice saying, "wawus". He now asks for "wawus" when we get in the car for music. And whenever he hears music, he gets all excited and proclaims, "wawus!!"

Dr. Bear

In case you thought Aaron couldn't get any cuter, check out Dr. Bear! Love the scrubs!!
