Halloween

For probably the 3rd or 4th year in a row, Aaron is Yoda for Halloween. I mean, when you are the cutest Yoda out there, why not repeat it? Kyle was Kyle Ren and Emily made her witch costume. Unfortunately, I did not get any pictures of them because they were off with their friends to trick or treat. We did run into them briefly when we were taking Aaron trick or treating.

Halloween

For the first time, the kids were allowed to wear their costumes to school on Halloween. I remember Halloween at school as kids where we had fun parties and enjoyed getting to wear our costumes (in elementary school at least). We recycled costumes again this year with a Star Wars theme. Emily dressed a bit outside the Star Wars theme with a sorceress costume she put together based upon a book she is reading.

Darth Vader at fair

Just a random Saturday morning at the North Carolina fairgrounds for an agriculture festival. Who doesn't go in their Darth Vader costume with a sword?
You can fry anything in the south. Anything.

Protectors of the Jedi

While Aaron was napping, his Star Wars dudes stood guard to protect him. Both The Force and the Dark Side came together in a moment of truce to protect this young Jedi Knight of the Future.

Happy 4th birthday Aaron!!

Aaron's 4th birthday has been a fun day and so very Aaron. He started the day waking up to a R2D2 balloon the size of him in his room. He was beyond excited.
Then we went to breakfast, had donuts, and went to Touch a Truck.

After Touch a Truck, we went back home for dinner and cake with our friends. Aaron got a Yoda jacket from Papa and Kari and he wouldn't take it off. He absolutely loves it. Aaron makes a good Yoda.

Mommy & Bear birthday selfie.

Aaron also had his little bed turned into a big kid bed with Star Wars bedding.

Aaron likes having a roommate and has had both Kyle and Em share his room with him for a slumber party.

Darth Vader's smoothie

Ahead of the big winter storm we were having in Raleigh, Aaron and I went to Costco to stock up on food so we would be set to eat should we be homebound for an extended period of time. To make it through Costco, Aaron gets to eat a hot dog (not a staple in our house, but the kids do enjoy them on the rare occasion they do get to eat them) and more recently he has added a smoothie to his order. He discovered them at the beginning of the month when he wasn't feeling well (had a sore throat likely from blisters in his throat from hand, foot & mouth) and realized that he didn't want a hot dog because it would hurt his throat. I suggested a smoothie and he has been forever changed with his Costco order. So here he is, Darth Vader sweatshirt / mask and all, having his smoothie. Even Darth Vader has to eat.

Halloween party

Our neighbors have hosted a pretty rockin' Halloween party on the culdesac each year that we have lived here. All of the neighborhood and more came out to partake in the festivities. Last year, we were meeting people for the first time. In masks and costume. Made for a beast of a year trying to figure out who everyone was without a mask or costume on. As if we weren't already bad enough with names. This year, we are starting to get it all figured out.

Star Wars practice

Because you know, you have to practice your light saber fighting skills. In costume. Before Halloween. Anytime.

Halloween prep

I'll give you one guess as to what we are going to be for Halloween. We figure our years are numbered for doing a family coordinated Halloween costume set. So we're making the most of it while the kids will still allow it. For now, they aren't too cool for us. Our days are numbered though. So yes, Jeff is Darth Vader, I am Padme Amidala, the twins are Luke & Leia, and Aaron is Yoda.

Aaron practicing his light saber skills with our neighbor. Brett taught Aaron how to use the force. Mind blown.
I think Em's costume is the best one. Isn't she adorable?
Darth, you may be my father, but I will still light saber your.
Darth Yoda. Never seen that one before.

Aaron Yoda

Aaron loves Star Wars. I think I've said that before. Aaron will be Yoda for Halloween so he now has his Yoda mask. He loves wearing it anywhere and everywhere. He is so 3 years old. And very cute.
While eating lunch
This is his wound (between his eyes) from light sabering the ground, losing his footing and falling face first on the ground. Moral of the story: don't light saber the ground.

When you wake up

Jedi knight

Aaron loves Star Wars. He loves dressing up in the costume that Alice sent to him and playing with the light saber also included in her package. Aaron doesn't go far without his light saber. He is very much a 3 year old.

Star Wars

Jeff has shown the kids the Star Wars movies now. Aaron has particularly taken to Star Wars. He loves playing Yoda. So we are thinking for Halloween, he will be Yoda, Kyle & Em as Luke & Leia, and Jeff and myself as Darth Vader and Padme.
