More March

I'm clearly very behind in updating the blog this year. So some pictures to tell more of the story of our March.

When the kids have after school activity on Wednesdays, Aaron and I go to happy hour together to spend some time together. Sometimes we will read a book, sometimes we play a game, and sometimes we just talk.

Aaron drew this picture of us together. He sure has such a sweet and kind heart. And have I mentioned he loves Star Wars and loves surfing in Hawaii? This shirt couldn't have been more perfect for him. May the surf be with you.

Just after Jeff was released from the hospital, friends were in town for some spring skiing. It was great medicine for Jeff to have them here and the kids all had a blast together as well.

Aaron's birthday

Happy 7th birthday dear Aaron! Time sure is flying by. You still love Star Wars, but especially Yoda. Keep on being the sweet boy that you are. We love you!

Joy

Jeff's babysitter from when he was young has always been in touch with his family as she was part of his family. She was coming to Utah with her sister for an event and knew we lived there so she decided to stop in. It had been many years (decades) since Jeff last saw her and of course the kids had never met her either. We had a great time catching up on life with her and getting to know one another. It was really special to meet her and hear more fun stories of Jeff growing up.

Arthur visit

Jeff's friend from North Carolina came out to visit this month. We had a great time catching up with him and Jeff had some great guy time. We also learned a new fact about Utah... when you are in a restaurant that serves beer (note not a bar), you may NOT stand up with said beer. You must be sitting down to drink that beer. Odd. But Utah...

Ride for Spike's mom

Each year, Spike rides in honor of her mom who made a point to be able to bike her age. This year, Spike is injured with a broken foot and unable to do the ride. We decided that between the 5 of us, we would be able to bike the 69 miles. We have some good bike paths near us after a few miles with great views so we took to the road on the weekend.

I will point out that Aaron's bike does not have gears and he hung with us through the hills and all.

A nice stop by a creek

Toast to Spike's mom

Aaron was really tired afterwards. But he really wanted to go to the pool.

Salt Lake Bees game

The kids and I went to the Salt Lake Bees game to start of the summer. It was also run the bases night so we actually stayed the entire game and ran the bases at the end.

San Diego friends visit

Our dear friends from San Diego came out to Utah for a ski trip and to spend some time with us. The kids picked up right where they left off, as always, and had a blast playing in the snow together and several rounds of hide and seek.

New Years

Happy 2018! We rang in 2018 with great friends from high school, one of which moved here the same time as us. Another drove in for the festivities. The kids all had a blast together and enjoyed staying up to midnight. This was the first time we didn't celebrate 2 time zones ahead New Years in order to be in bed at a reasonable time. :-)

Aaron & Tony

Aaron with one of our favorite people in North Carolina. Aaron climbed right up on Tony's lap to play some Tower Game.

Birthday ropes course

Happy 10th birthday Kyle & Emily!! For their celebration, they went back to the Greensboro Science Center to do the ropes course. When we saw it the previous week, Kyle was intent on doing the ropes course and was disappointed we couldn't do it right then and there. They brought our best friends her in NC to the course and had an absolute blast.
I was supposed to go as well and hang with Aaron on the ground (he is too young to be allowed on the course), but I threw out my neck and could barely function so I stayed back with Aaron.
