Moving

Moving day is upon us. Seems a bit surreal that we are actually moving after 2 years in Raleigh. But it's happening. And quickly as the movers pack up and load up in very short order. Whirlwind.

This is what was left under the couch in the living room. Many, many marbles courtesy of Aaron.

Marbles

It's the end of track-out and a non-preschool day so we hit Marbles for a morning of fun. The kids love these life-size Legos. They always build this amazing, HUGE house around themselves. They could probably stay in this area for several hours.

Afterwards, we hit Costco to pick up a quick, easy (pizza) dinner because our friends were coming over that evening to hangout and play games. My brothers and sisters will recognize this picture as a throwback to our days on the flatbed through BJ's/Sam's/Costco with Bill K. And honestly, this flatbed (which we called "the crazy train") was a great way to keep the kids with me and somewhat behaving through Costco because they thought it was so much fun.

Aaron time

With school out for all 3 kids at the same time (quite a feat in this school system with how they have us set up), we have a bit of a summer! Jeff had a work trip to Chicago so Kyle and Emily went along to spend some time with Grandma in Wisconsin. That left Aaron and myself back in North Carolina to have some fun together.

One of the days we went over to Marbles. We hadn't been there in quite a long time so it was fun to return.
Aaron's favorite room is probably still the piggy room. We waited a long time to get this slow motion video of the balls falling on Aaron.

Another day, we headed east for the beach. We hadn't been to the beach (on the Atlantic) since our San Diego friends had visited us last August. We had a great time hanging out, playing in the sand, making a sand castle and sand angels and jumping waves. And of course topping the day off with some ice cream. Within minutes of pulling out of our parking spot there, Aaron was asleep for the entire 2 hour ride home.

Another day we had silly hair day. Aaron really wanted purple hair. So he had some purple hair along with blue and pink. He was thrilled. Having dark hair, it didn't so much show up on my hair.

We hit the bowling alley with our silly hair.

Kyle's monkeys (not the real Miko) were tucked into his bed while he was away.

We had a silly string battle day which was silly fun.

For Father's Day, we made red macaroni in honor of my dad. Jeff was able to celebrate the day with Kyle and Emily and his dad while in Chicago.

And we had ice cream night.

We had a lot of fun together and certainly missed Kyle, Emily & Jeff.

Marbles Preschool

Aaron has been going to a little preschool age class at Marbles which he LOVES! Everyday he asks if he can go to Marbles Preschool. Today we got a little video because I had Kyle & Emily with me since they are out of school.

Marbles museum

The kids are loving the Marble's Children's Museum here in Raleigh. Aaron takes a little class there that he looks forward to each week. While Kyle and Emily have been out of school, they have gotten to enjoy the place as well.

Aaron on rings

Today, Aaron and I went over to Marbles to play. He loves the sports play area and got up on the rings like Emily. He did a flip and was so happy to be just like his big sister doing gymnastics.

Marble run

Aaron is a marble hound. The kids LOVES his marbles. He has them stashed all over the house and is always asking to play with his ma-mas. Thankfully he doesn't put them in his mouth. He seemed to try once a while back, we told him never to do so and that was that. Here he is creating his own marble run. Clever kid, clever.
