Blue house

After Lake Geneva, we headed to the blue house for a short stop before our flight that evening.

Papa played a game of checkers with Aaron.

Little Jeff and his Grandpa Irving (Papa's dad) playing checkers back in the day. (Aaron's namesake: Irving Aaron)
We finally let Kyle, Em & Aaron on iPads so they could play Terraria together for 15 minutes with their cousins. These kids are obsessed with that game and would play it non-stop if we let them. But we won't.
I think Emily & Kyle were tired :-) Aaron, not so much (he already had fallen asleep in the previous car ride from Lake Geneva to the blue house).

Lake Geneva

After visiting Cedarburg and Jeff's grandma's 95th birthday celebration, we headed to Lake Geneva for some family time with Jeff's family. We went out on a boat and did some tubing, rode the water slides at the hotel, played tennis and basketball at the fitness center, and enjoyed some good food and great family time together.

Somehow Jeff convinced me to go on the boat...

Brothers

And he got me out on a tube with him. It was certainly fun and a good arm workout holding on for dear life.

Aaron rode a pony while we were at the fitness center (after his nap).

Aaron became a master at the monkey bars in the pool
And he had no fear of the tube slide and rode it countless times with various partners.

Mmmmm taco dinner.

Family visit

This weekend, we had family in town for a visit. Papa & Kari came to see us as well as Adam and family. We had so much fun having family here. One of the highlights was going up to Duke, Jeff's alma mater, to show them around. We went through the gardens, around campus, and to the K-ville. We did a quick basketball tour and got to see the hall of fame (I think that's what it's called) museum there where they feature all of their superstar athletes and accomplishments. Was pretty awesome. We also went over to the track where Jeff spent a lot of his Duke time and the kids ran some laps. (Note: Jeff, I think you have more pix on your phone to add to this post)

Papa & Kari visit Raleigh

Papa & Kari made a trip out to Raleigh to visit with us and see our new surroundings. We had a nice visit with them, showing them our new town.

The kids were still in school this week, but Aaron was happy to take them to his most favorite place: Marbles! We could hardly extricate him from this marble maze there.
One night we went out to the theater to see Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer on stage. It was fun to take the kids and see their expressions. Aaron loved it as well, though he got upset when Rudolph was in trouble and the yeti came on stage. It was so sweet, he had a little tear in the corner of his eye for about 5 minutes before he couldn't contain his emotion any longer. He sniffled and needed some hugs but was otherwise happy to stay and watch the rest of the show.
Another night we went out to sushi and got to sit in the special authentic area. I can't think of what it is called.
