Millcreek Hike

Continuing our start of summer weekend (while Jeff was away), we went into Millcreek Canyon for a new hike. Pretty great view of the valley.

Salt Lake Bees game

The kids and I went to the Salt Lake Bees game to start of the summer. It was also run the bases night so we actually stayed the entire game and ran the bases at the end.

Mount Olympus - try 2

When Aaron and Beanie were in Wisconsin for Bean's work trip, Kyle, Emily and I explored Mount Olympus. We made it a mile up, and we hope to make it all the way up by summer's end.

Utah Jazz Playoff Games

We got to go to two Utah Jazz playoff games: one just me and Kathleen and the other Jeff took Kyle, Em and John.

Aaron's Kindergarten program

Aaron's Kindergarten class put on a sweet end of year program with loads of cute songs they have worked on. The best song was from "The Greatest Showman" called (I think) "A Million Dreams".  Just try not to tear up with a bunch of 5 and 6 year olds singing about the future and dreams as they finish their first year of school.

Kyle removing his stitches

So after winning his tennis tournament at the beginning of the month, that evening Kyle was making guacamole and sliced open his thumb resulting in stitches. Kyle doesn't do pain and needles and doctors very well at all after his 3 days in a West Virginia hospital a few years back where he recalls 37 needle pokes so getting the stitches was feat #1. Then came time to get the stitches out. He wouldn't let the doctor get near them so he showed Kyle how to take them out himself. Kyle got as far as cutting 2 of the stitches before we had a strong hold and the doctor was able to do this thing. But Kyle sure tried.

More Aaron sleeping

Another installment of Aaron sleeping. Kid knows when he needs his sleep and gets it. Sometimes he crawls into our bed, other times he passes out where he is.

Kyle & Emily

Jeff took this amazing picture of Kyle and Emily while they were on a hike (while Aaron and I were away). It is an excellent picture of them. They look so grown up. Slow down time!

Wisconsin

I had a work trip to Wisconsin on a week that Aaron did not have school so he got to come with me. He has been asking for some time to go on a work trip with me and this time he got his wish. He spent the week with Grandma having the time of his life and getting all the attention while I had meetings and Jeff, Kyle & Emily were back in Utah at work and school.
Aaron and Grandma made me a delicious lunch to take to the office because I knew I didn't have time between meetings to eat. Aaron sweetly decorated my lunch bag for me and Mom made me an excellent sandwich. I feel so loved.

Bike through

While Jeff, Kyle, & Emily were at the Jazz game, Aaron and I went on a bike ride. Dairy Queen was closed so we went next door to McDonald's for an ice cream sundae. Aaron thought it was funny to use the drive through as a bike through.

Kyle tennis

Kyle played in his first tennis tournament after a year or so off. He jumped back into tennis lessons the previous month after really missing it and wanting to play again. His first tournament back, he took out the #1 and #2 seeds in short order on his way to winning the tournament. Way to go Kyle!
