Beach again

This is what it looked like back in Raleigh. 

Boohoo we had to stay in San Diego longer. We cried many (joyous) tears over staying longer back in San Diego. Oh how we miss living there. Anyone who knows us knows that we love the beach, Coronado especially. So we hit the beach again to surf, boogie board and play in the sand. And during the week, in February, with school in session, it's pretty empty. We didn't mind one bit. 

Kyle had some fun sand surfing. And I had some fun playing with the slo-mo feature on my phone.

Betsy also didn't tell her kids that we were coming to San Diego so we got to surprise them at the beach. Emily's friend Haiden and her family came to the beach as well to play. We pretty much spent all afternoon at the beach boogie boarding and surfing and loving Coronado beach that we had missed so.

Our San Diego summer at Coronado Beach had a fantastic grand finale over the weekend with Betsy and her family. We both had the whole family, husbands included since it was the weekend. What a great way to send off San Diego. Though sad thinking about it now as I post this 3 months later, missing San Diego, the beach, surfing and Betsy and her family.

That evening, we went over to Betsy's house for a great dinner together. Aaron and Alice had a nice private table to themselves. These two are just so cute! 

Beach again :-)

Did I mention ours was the summer of the beach? Back at Coronado again with Betsy and her family. We sure miss them! And the beach (as I post this in November from Raleigh in 40 degree weather).

Coronado Beach

I think the story of our last summer in San Diego was soaking up all of the San Diego beach and sun that we possibly could - especially at Coronado beach. In our opinion (and many others as well), this is the best beach in the area. We spent many days there with Betsy and her kids. It was fun to see all the kids get out and boogie board together, Aaron and Alice playing in the sand on the beach, Aaron and Alice riding their boogie boards, teaching Ian to surf and getting Emily, Kyle & Eric up on the surf board as well.

Early August beach

So I don't actually remember the full details (i.e., when) these pictures were taken, but I do remember they were some awesome times out enjoying the San Diego sun with friends. 

Emily built a fun mud castle on the beach at Coronado with Betsy's kids. 

Aaron got really tired at the pool with Kyle & Emily's old preschool buddies. He asked to be covered up because he was cold. But when we peeked under the towel, he was sleeping. 

Beach day

Today was a beach day with the kids and Betsy's kids. It was very overcast, but at least we were less concerned about the kids getting burnt. Her boys and Kyle and Emily all went out boogie boarding together and had a blast!! They did some sand castles together as well. This is one of our most favorite beaches (and usually on the list of top beaches in the world). We will certainly miss Coronado beach and Betsy and her family.
