Little gamers

Last night we took the kids to Corvette Diner and Jeff has turned our little toddlers into gamers!!  It's really quite cute!  They both LOVED playing the little basketball and doggie game.

You can't really see from this picture, but Kyle is standing in the ball area, not the ground, so he's big enough to shoot hoops.  He did GREAT at this, making many shots!

He shoots....

He scores!!!  Swish!!!!

Got milk(shake)?

Yum!!

Gymnastics

Kyle & Emily also started a little gymnastics class the other week which they LOVE!  They get to do all the monkeying around they want to and it's all padded and mostly kid friendly!  This week they got a great instructor who can handle 4 toddlers and teach!

Streeeeeeetch!!!

Emily hanging on the bars and reaching to the scarves with toes!  She sure does love to hang!

Kyle's turn to hang and reach the scarves with his toes!

Kyle hoisting himself up!  Go triceps!

And strong girl Emily!!

Emily up high to reach the sky!

Emily after a BIG jump!

Emily on the balance beam all by herself!  She walked across on tiptoes all by herself!

Emily is hanging on the bars on the left and Kyle is in the middle on the rings!  They really are strong!

The park outside of gymnastics is huge and the kids have a great time climbing on it after gymnastics.  This climbing part they very appropriately call, "The Twizzlers"

Sports class

Kyle & Emily started a class where they go through a bunch of different sports and teaching the kids the essential skills from each sport. Our first week, this week, they did soccer. Emily jumped right in while Kyle stood to the sides for a little, checking out what was going on, but then joined and loved it. Now we've practiced dribbling with them, but they always like to dribble basketball style.  Guess we'll have some goalies! So they did a drill where they dribble around and then stop with different parts of the body. When it came to stopping the ball and putting your nose on it, Kyle & Emily stopped the ball with their feet and then picked the ball up to touch it to their nose while the other kids and teachers bent down and put their nose to the ball. I don't know why, but I thought their approach was very clever and smart!  But above all, they had fun and learned a bit more about soccer.  (Side commentary: it was kinda funny how some parents were so crazy into it wanting their kid to be the next Pele that they would tell the kids from the sidelines what they were doing wrong and call them over and tell them to pay attention, etc.  Really?!?!?!  Just let them have fun!  They are 3!!!!)

The picture below isn't the best, but (1) it's a picture and (2)you can see Kyle to the left checking out what's going on and Emily next to the teacher in the blue shirt dribbling.

Shades

Kyle has a thing for sunglasses... he puts them on and looks all cool and then tells me, "Mommy, take my picture!"  So here he is looking suave in his shades!

Big day...

It was a big day in our house... Jeff set up Kyle & Emily on a game of Guitar Hero... Kyle tells us he's a Hero Guitar... and they played a beginner level where they just have to strum and together they beat the level! Jeff couldn't be more proud of his little gamers!

The Sweetest Thing

Perhaps one of the cutest moments lately with Kyle & Emily:  Emily reading a book to Kyle with him sitting in her lap!

Workin' hard or hardly workin'?

So happy together

Emily & Kyle are quite the duo.

Emily loved pushing Kyle on the swing.

Kyle too.  He wanted to give her an underdog!

Tandem bouncy ride.

Coffee (milk) together with Mommy, Daddy & Emmy.

Coffee (smoothie) together with Daddy, Mommy & Kyle.

This was the parking garage they built together while I showered!

Makin' coffee

Kyle and Emily LOVE to make coffee for Daddy.  Here's how you make a cup of coffee for Daddy, according to Kyle:

First, get up on the counter by the coffee maker (i.e., Daddy lifts you up)

Next you select your coffee pod.

Then you place your pod into the coffee maker.

Close it, press the button and VOILA you have coffee!

Grocery ballerina

We had movie night on Friday at home. We talked about going to see Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs, but Kyle wasn't in the mood for a movie theater, let alone a movie. But before the home movie (The Incredibles), we had to get some movie treats so Emily and I rode over to the grocery and she was a great helper!

She LOVED pushing her little shopping cart with all our groceries. And in the midst of it all, she said she was just like a princess doing grocery shopping.  I'm not sure a princess would actually do grocery shopping, but hey, it's 2009!  And then she told me she was a grocery ballerina and showed me a releve in the middle of the store.  Notice her tippie toes in the picture below.

Oh and while we were there, John Denver's "Country Roads" came on.  She properly identified John Denver (I gave her a few choices of artists).  Go Emmy!!

Marry me

So this weekend, Jeff and I went to Chryssi & David's FABULOUS wedding in Santa Barbara and the kids stayed home with Grandma & Bunky who came out & down for the occasion. They had an absolute blast with them going to the zoo, Seaport Village, Coronado beach, Corvette Diner, Fish Market, Swing park and more.  Grandma sure kept them busy!!!  Grandma you are AWESOME!

So tonight, we were talking about the wedding and telling the kids about the next wedding and how they were going to go to this next wedding and had some very interesting conversations.

Mommy: You guys are gonna go to Karen & Pop Pete's wedding soon!
Kyle: I'm gonna be bear rings!!  And I'm gonna run super really fast for them!
Emily: And I'm gonna wear my beautiful princess dress and twirl and be a flower girl!
Kyle: And I'm gonna get married at Karen & Pop Pete's wedding!
Mommy: Who are you going to marry at Karen & Pop Pete's wedding?
Kyle: I'm gonna marry you and Daddy!

And later at dinner tonight we were talking about it again and I was telling Jeff about this conversation...

Kyle: I'm gonna get married at the Sears Tower too like you Mommy!
Mommy:  How fun!
Kyle: And I'm gonna get married at Karen & Pop Pete's wedding!
Mommy:  Who are you going to marry Kyle?
Kyle: I'm gonna marry you guys!  Mommy, Daddy & Emily!
Emily: And I'm gonna marry you, Daddy!
Daddy: How sweet Emily!
Emily: Daddy, can you marry me?
Daddy: Of course!
Kyle: I'm gonna marry Mommy & Emily!  Mommy, can you marry me?
Mommy: Kyle you're a sweet boy!  Of course I'll marry you Kyle!

It was so sweet to be proposed to by our little babies!  Such little sweetie pies!

Grandma's visit

Kyle & Emily had a fantastic time with Grandma when she came to San Diego for a visit and to stay with them while Jeff and I went to Chryssi & David's amazing wedding. Mom's friend from Nursing School came down from Sacramento to visit as well then.

Kyle driving Emily & Grandma at the park. They normally drive us at the park to Grandma's house, but since Grandma was already there, Kyle drove to Disneyland!
